Who are we?
Professional dog grooming by
Ellen Stepney & Fiona Arden
Ellen Stepney was trained by one of the UK’s top leading dog groomers, Agnes Murphy at Scotgroom Carluke. In 2001, Groomlands was set up and the business has gone from strength to strength ever since. At the end of 2012, Ellen’s sister, Fiona Arden, finished training at Scotgroom and joined the business. This allowed Ellen and Fiona to expand their customer base. Ellen has a Batchelor of Technology degree, City and Guilds diploma in dog grooming with distinction and a dog first aid certificate. Trisha joined Groomlands in September 2019. Trisha has six of her own dogs and has several qualifications relating to dogs including canine first aid certificate and Ofqual regulated level 3 in Professional day care and boarding.
At Groomlands, our policy is to provide a safe, relaxing and friendly environment for your four legged friends to be groomed. Grooming is by appointment only and no more than two dogs in the grooming room at one time (unless from the same household). This benefits your dogs by minimising noise/barking, reduces stress and lessens the need for your dog to be in a cage until it’s their time to be groomed. We cater for all dog breeds at Groomlands. We’re trained to provide hand stripping, clipper and scissor work depending on what you wish and your dog requires. Advice is given to customers on how to maintain their dog’s coat to keep them looking their best and which tools should be used at home to keep the knots and matts at bay between appointments.
NB: We are bound by the animal welfare act, and if a dog is excessively matted, the only option may be to clip the dogs’ coat completely to avoid discomfort and/or pain. This would always be discussed prior to any action being taken.
